Arley Hall 10K, 4 November 2017

A great turnout for the final race of this year’s club championship saw 25 runners compete at Arley Hall. Matthew Skaife was first home for the men and, in doing so, clinched the club championship with a perfect score of 160 points. Congratulations, Matthew. Will Hine was second and Dom Cooper third.
Helen Davies, who has already been crowned this year’s ladies champion, was first home with Lisa Crosby in second place followed by Cath Rigby.
Full points allocations are on the club championship page.

Halewood 5K, 7 October 2017

The Knowsley Harriers Alder Hey 5K saw 12 members competing in the penultimate championship race of the season. In the ladies’ championship Helen Davies, with a perfect score of 160 points, cannot now be overtaken. Congratulations, Helen.

The men’s championship will go to the final race of the season with Dom Cooper and Matthew Skaife neck and neck on 148 points each.

In the Alder Hey 10K held at Croxteth Park on Sunday 8 October three of our ladies, Charlotte Ford, Sian Kilty and Lisa Pritchard won the women’s team prize. Huge congratulations to them.

Preston 5 Miler, 13 August 2017

Perfect conditions produced impressive performances at The Preston 5 Miler. Many congratulations to Cathy Rigby Lisa Crosby and Helen Davies for our Ladies winning the team prize. Wasn’t much in it between our two leading ladies in the race but Helen just shaded it over Lisa Crosby both girls finishing second and third respectively in their age category. Colin Sefton again produced another strong and determined run to typify his season finishing second in his age category . Performance of the day surely came from Michelle Williams with a gutsy performance back running after such a torrid time with injury. Brilliant run from our newcomer and fast improving Mark Quinn producing a P.B. for his efforts. Well done to all of our Mossley Hill runners making it a tremendous run during the race and such a fabulous atmosphere afterwards. Credit to the race organisers !!!

Training

Whether you are a beginner or want to run a marathon you will be made most welcome. Many of our members don’t take part in competitive races and choose to run to get fit and have fun whilst meeting new people. Click here for more info about our training sessions.

Racing

Our members can choose to compete in races throughout the year. Our in-house club Championship is comprised of 20 races chosen at the beginning of each year by our club captain Tony Metcalfe. Take a look at the calendar to see the races in the Championship this year.

The club has in the past hired transport to encourage members to take part in races further afield.

Each year we also host our own race – the Sefton Park 5 miler. Our 2016 race will take place on Wednesday 13 July – 7:30pm. More details are available here
