Preston 5 Miler, 13 August 2017

Perfect conditions produced impressive performances at The Preston 5 Miler. Many congratulations to Cathy Rigby Lisa Crosby and Helen Davies for our Ladies winning the team prize. Wasn’t much in it between our two leading ladies in the race but Helen just shaded it over Lisa Crosby both girls finishing second and third respectively in their age category. Colin Sefton again produced another strong and determined run to typify his season finishing second in his age category . Performance of the day surely came from Michelle Williams with a gutsy performance back running after such a torrid time with injury. Brilliant run from our newcomer and fast improving Mark Quinn producing a P.B. for his efforts. Well done to all of our Mossley Hill runners making it a tremendous run during the race and such a fabulous atmosphere afterwards. Credit to the race organisers !!!

Port Sunlight 10K, 18 June 2017

Weather conditions were very much appropriate for the Port Sunlight 10k. It was an absolute scorcher but a fabulous atmosphere. Race times were understandably a lot slower than what we would have normally expected but the 10 Mossley Hill runners did our club proud. Congratulations to our category winners Sue Rogers, back to her winning ways, and Allan Lawson, showing consistency over all distances. It was Dom Cooper who was first home for Mossley Hill and Helen Davies led our ladies back with impressive runs coming from Helen Roddy, Cathy Rigby, Nikki Hannaway and Lisa Pritchard.

Our members can choose to compete in races throughout the year. Our in-house club Championship is comprised of 20 races chosen at the beginning of each year by our club captain Tony Metcalfe. Take a look at the calendar to see the races in the Championship this year.

The club has in the past hired transport to encourage members to take part in races further afield.
